Who We Are
Patrick Mayer – His areas of practice include general corporate commercial, mergers and acquisitions, project finance, renewable energy projects and co-generation projects.
Marguerite Davis – Her areas of practice include all aspects of residential and commercial property law including conveyancing, structuring of property transactions, commercial, residential and notarial leases; land use, planning, development and related authorisations.

Young Earth Attorneys was founded by Patrick Mayer (our managing director). Before founding Young Earth Attorneys, Patrick served his articles at and spent the majority of his legal career at Werksmans Attorneys, a firm to which he still has strong ties. Subsequently he joined the Project Finance team at Norton Rose Fulbright and in 2015 founded Young Earth Attorneys, pursuing his vision of a niche legal practice which assists its client in the drive towards an inclusive and diverse economy that focus on sustainable growth and development, both environmentally and economical while being a responsible corporate citizen.
His areas of practice include general corporate commercial, mergers and acquisitions, project finance, renewable energy projects and co-generation projects.
Qualifications: LLB, University of Pretoria.
Interests: When Patrick is not attending to his client’s needs, Patrick is an avid Foodie, loves spending time on the family game farm in the Bushveld and enjoying Jozi’s vibrant food and music culture.

Marguerite Davis

Real Estate and Environmental law
Marguerite is an admitted attorney and conveyancer with more than 30 years’ experience in practice. Before joining the Young Earth Attorneys, Marguerite was a partner at Webber Wentzel in the Real Estate Practice, where she focussed on commercial real estate transactions and the land related aspects of renewable energy projects. Before joining Webber Wentzel, she practised for her own account under the name Marguerite Davis Attorneys and Conveyancers specialising in property and environmental law..
Her areas of practice include all aspects of residential and commercial property law including conveyancing, structuring of property transactions, commercial, residential and notarial leases; land use, planning, development and related authorisations.
Marguerite also specialises in environmental law and advises on legal risk mitigation and management relating to environmental issues, environmental authorisations and compliance, due diligence investigations and appeals and reviews of administrative decisions. She is a sessional lecturer in Water Law in the postgraduate program at University of the Witwatersrand.
Qualifications: BA University of Cape Town, LLB University of Cape Town, LLM University of the Witwatersrand (Environmental law).
Interests: Marguerite is the proud owner of a Champion German Shepherd and when she is not dog training or tracking with Jabari she enjoys gardening, birding and relaxing in the Bush with friends and family.
